I was an angry man I was a troubled child You came a great long distance I barely did a mile I’m still the same poor fool You know me from my youth I try to picture you now Standing here as the living proof Welcome to my world Step into my life Welcome to my world Step into my life I was a thoughtless man I was a thankless child Born of a troubled mind I felt like i was spinnin And the sun never shined I was afraid to let go For fear of a broken heart I try to picture you now I was alone naked from the start Welcome to my world Step into my life Ooo ooo welcome to my world Step into my life Oh, please don’t keep me waiting I’ve been waiting for so long I was a careless man Straining beyond my reach Wondering what i was thinking I never heard the truth you teach I was afraid to let go I was a lonely man I try to picture you now I’m not the only one waiting for you Welcome to my world Step into my life Welcome to my world Step into my life Welcome to my world Step into my life

about

The new single from THE CALL. “Welcome to My World” is from 1986's Into the Woods recording sessions. Nearly lost to the sands of time, this unreleased song remained unfinished until Jim Goodwin, Tom Ferrier, Scott Musick, and Ralph Patlan returned to the studio in 2023 to add missing parts.

This fully completed version features Michael Been's original vocals as he recorded them, part of the forthcoming album, The Lost Tapes, in 2024.
